JONATHAN CHERRY: What did you have for breakfast this morning?
HARVEY HARTLEY: I never eat breakfast; I had half a cold pizza at about 11:00 if that counts.
JC: Are there any emerging photographers inspiring you at the moment?
HH: I just found Michael ten Pas’ work, I don’t know if he is classed as emerging or if I am just behind the times.
JC: What was the last photography book you picked up?
HH: Damian Beard’s Mother managed to track down a hardback copy of American Surfaces by Stephen Shore for me I have also just ordered Broken Manual by Alec Soth.
JC: What is your current project all about?
HH: I have a zine named ACCEPT / REGRET that is ready to be printed, it loosely documents the aftermath of a failed relationship.
JC: What has 2011 got in store for you?
HH: Who knows? I am going to try to publish another zine named Me If You Lose about the start of a new relationship this will serve as the unofficial Part II of ACCEPT / REGRET. It seems that everything I do involves a girl - I blame the exposure to ‘90s indie records at a young age.
JC: Where are you from?
HH: Originally I’m from Cumbria, UK but now I am living in Cambridgeshire - down here I’m the token Northerner with a chip on my shoulder.
JC: What initially drew you to photography?
HH: The promise of hot chicks and loose dudes.
JC: Other thoughts?
HH: Only that I need to get ACCEPT / REGRET published so I can finally forget about it and thank you to everyone at MULL IT OVER.
